After resigning his position at American Express in 2015, he worked with Startup Grofers. In the year 2017, he worked with PC Jewellers as the head of the new business but could not work there for long. BharatPe was formed in the year 2017 by Bhavik Koladia and Shashwat Nakrani. In the year 2018, Ashneer Grover was the third founder of the company. Bhavik had 42.5 per cent shares. Ashneer Grover obtained 32 per cent shares. At the same time, 25 percent shares were with Shashwak. A few days later, when Sequoia emerged as the lead investor in BharatPe, Bhavik’s name disappeared from the list of investors.
It was reported that because Bhavik has gone to jail, investors have objection to his name and after this he became the major face of Bharatpe. Bhavik has now reached the court to obtain back his shares. Significantly, there has been turbulence in India for some years. Recently the company’s CEO Suhail Sameer also quit. There is a debate going on between BharatPe and Ashneer Grover.
